One year after launching its Awards Africa in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, with the objective of addressing the continent’s most pressing issues through technology serving a social impact, Euromena Consulting is bringing its startup competition down to the MENA region with a final ceremony scheduled on December 6th in Beirut Digital District

“Amid a rapidly developing startup and tech scene in the MENA region, Euromena Consulting is eager to learn more about and engage with the region’s promising social enterprises that can demonstrate a clear impact on local problems”, explains on its website the management consulting firm, based in Lebanon and serving clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Applications are open until October 21st to all teams based in Lebanon and the region, trying to solve a specific social challenge through technology. To be eligible, project leaders must already have launched their product or service, and be able to demonstrate its economic viability. The social entrepreneurship project can be related to any of the following themes: education, culture, gender equality, discrimination, youth, health, financial inclusion, environment as well as social and economic development.

The winning team will be granted the sum of 10,000 dollars, while the second and third will receive respectively 3,000 and 2,000 dollars. In addition, they will all be granted a 6-month business consulting support from Euromena Consulting.
