Applications to the third edition of Agrytech’s hackathon are now open. The competition will take place at Berytech Innovation Park in Mar Roukoz on August 23-24-25. Fields trips are also scheduled on August 22, and a closing ceremony on August 28.

The hackathon will give participants the opportunity to develop prototypes and agri-food solutions using technologies such as Internet of things, big data and artificial intelligence.

Submitted business ideas can either be related to farming, postharvest, manufacturing or distribution.

Competitors will discover real challenges facing the agri-food sector, learn how to transform their idea into a business solution and get a chance to prototype their solution.

Cash prizes and incubation support

Participants will eventually pitch their projects to a panel of judges to have the chance to win cash prizes as well as a 3-month access to Berytech’s incubation support.

Throughout the hackathon, the teams will receive the assistance of technical, industry and business experts, as well as the support of Source Institute from the Netherlands with their international experts. They will have access to the tools and hardware prototyping facility of the Berytech Fab Lab.

Last year, 12 teams were admitted of which 5 startups made it to the final incubation phase of the program and received 40,000 dollars in funding.
